Schleifer in the lead in 12th subcircuit

With 249 of 252 precincts reporting Andrea M. Schleifer is in the lead for the Democratic primary to fill the Rockford vacancy in Cook County's 12th judicial subcircuit. She had 8,308 votes, or 62 percent, according to the Cook county Clerk's office.

James Paul Pieczonka ran unopposed in the Republican primary.

The 12th subcircuit comprises parts of Wheeling as well as Elk Grove, Maine, New Trier and Northfield townships. Other candidates for the Democratic nomination were Michael John Halloran, Robert P. Babbit, Daniel P. Scott and James C. Murray.
