Catch up with ‘Game of Thrones’ on DVD

“Game of Thrones”

HBO’s successful and acclaimed medieval fantasy series “Game of Thrones” is based on the best-selling series of novels by George R.R. Martin. The series brings civil war, feuding families and complex relationships all set in a fantasy kingdom. The adult series is brutal, and at times hard to watch. But the acting, costumes and technical aspects of this series are outstanding. The five-disc set includes 10 episodes, and followers of the series can rejoice that season two will be starting soon.

“Tony Bennett Duets II”

Like a fine wine, singer Tony Bennett gets better with age. To celebrate his 85th birthday, Bennett performs some of his hits with a wide range of other performers. The resulting album debuted at the top of the charts, and the video presents what happened behind the scenes along with the great songs. Some of the performances are “The Lady is a Tramp” with Lady Gaga, “Body and Soul” with Amy Winehouse, “Blue Velvet” with k.d. lang, “This is All I Ask” with Josh Grobin, “Stranger in Paradise” with Andrea Bocelli and “It had To Be You” with Carrie Underwood.

“Human Nature Sings Motown”

Many fans of Human Nature first saw them on PBS during one of many pledge drives. Their show in Las Vegas has been a smash hit, and this DVD captures that magic. There are 22 songs featured, and you will love the groups vocal harmonies on such Motown classics as “Stop in the Name of Love,” “I’ll be There,” “I Heard It Through The Grapevine,” “My Girl” and more.

John Wayne made more than 200 films, and they covered many different categories.

“John Wayne: Adventure” — There are three films in this set: “Donovan’s Reef,” “Hatari” and “In Harm’s Way.”

“John Wayne: Western” — The three Westerns in this collection are “Sons of Katie Elder,” “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance” and “The Shootist.”
