Thomas Ecology Club Adopts Sea Turtle

The Thomas Middle School Ecology Club held a craft sale the week of Feb. 20th and raised enough money to "adopt" a sea turtle. The students sold hand crafted items such as duct tape wallets and sun catchers during lunch periods and donated the money to seaturtle.org, and organization that works to protect sea turtle habitat. The turtle they chose to adopt is Paddles, a flatback turtle living off the coast of Australia. The students are able to follow Paddles movements through a satellite attached to the turtle's shell. The Thomas Middle School Ecology Club is listed as "adoptive parents" on Paddles' website:
