Have some fun during break at the park district

As the holidays approach, families are looking for fun and engaging activities for their kids during winter break. The Cary Park District has developed opportunities to keep kid’s minds alert and hands active when there is a day off from school.

To register for any of the programs listed below, visit the Community Center at 255 Briargate Road in Cary or register online at www.carypark.com. For more information, call (847) 639-6100 or visit www.carypark.com. Preregistration is required for all programs.

Sledding and Outdoor Fun: Bundle up and sled down the hill at Lions Park, plus enjoy other seasonal activities at the Community Center. Bring sled(s), proper outdoor attire, a sack lunch, and drink. Activities will be held at the Community Center and Lions Park. If the weather is not suitable for sledding, other activities will be planned at the Community Center. The program will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23. Fee is $35 for the first child; $30 for each additional child in the family.

Ice Skating: Start and end your day at the Community Center making friends, playing games, and having a great time. In between, lace up those skates and hit the ice at the Crystal Ice House in Crystal Lake. Please bring a sack lunch and drink. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26. The program will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; bus leaves for Crystal Ice House at 10:30 a.m. Fee is $39 for the first child; $35 for each additional child in the family.

Bowling and Laser Tag: Start and end your day at the Community Center with games, movies, and more. In between enjoy bowling and laser tag at Brunswick Zone in Algonquin. bring a sack lunch and drink. The program will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Dec. 27. Bus leaves for eSkape at 10:30 a.m. Fee is $39 for the first child; $35 for each additional child in the family.

New Year’s Pizza Party: Let the countdown to the New Year begin with a pizza party and other activities at the Community Center. Lunch will be provided. Activities will be held at the Community Center. The program will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30. Fee is $35 for the first child; $30 for each additional child in the family.

Roller-skating: It’s roller-skating time. Begin and end your day at the Community Center with seasonal activities. In between we’ll roll the morning away at Xtreme Wheels in Crystal Lake. Bring a sack lunch and drink. The program will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2. The bus leaves for Xtreme Wheels at 9:30 a.m. Fee is $39 for the first child; $35 for each additional child in the family.

Marshmallow Madness: It’s marshmallow madness time. Enjoy seasonal crafts, games, movies, and more at the Community Center. Bring a sack lunch and drink. The program will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3. The bus leaves for eSkape at 10:30 a.m. Fee is $35 for the first child; $30 for each additional child in the family.
