A definite musical theme has taken over our latest edition The Suburbs This Weekend, but there is a variety of choices.

Sean suggests “The Prince Experience” at Viper Alley in Lincolnshire, beginning at 9 p.m. Friday. Don't forget your raspberry beret. Info at viper-alley.com.

He's also promoting “Drum!”, an ensemble of 20 musicians, drummers, and singers telling the tale of Nova Scotia's many cultures. It's at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Lake County Lumber lCenter for the performing Arts in Graylake. Find out more at jlc.clcillinois.edu.

Richard, on the other hand, is touting “How the West was Won,” a concert of TV and Hollywood westerns with harmonic player Mike Runyan and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. Details at elignsymphony.org. Presumably you'll be able to hear everything from the theme from “Have Gun Will Travel,” to “The Magnificent Seven.” You Frankie Laine fans should leave your whips at home, no matter how much you like the theme from “Rawhide.”

And, finally, bring your favorite instrument and attend Countryside Saloon's Bandaroke event Friday night in Des Plaines, You can join a live, four-person band with your own music maker. More information at countrysidesaloon.com.
