“The Phantom of the Opera at The Royal Albert Hall”

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this great musical, the longest running show in the history of Broadway, producer Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber simulcast this live performance around the world last October. They then ran encore performances in selected movie theaters. This production of “The Phantom of the Opera” has a terrific cast, and looks great in high-definition. The story is mesmerizing, the songs beloved. And as an added bonus, the original London cast performs.

“Father Dowling Mysteries: The First Season”

This mystery series from the late 1980s relied on strong writing and believable characters to build a loyal following. Tom Bosley played Father Frank Dowling, a Chicago priest, who, along with a young nun (Tracy Nelson), helped solve crimes. They gathered information in their own special way, and, at times, were one step ahead of the criminals and the police. Father Dowling would say that it was heavenly guidance that helped him solve crimes, but it was hard work and attention to detail that always got the bad guys. The two-disc set includes all eight episodes from the first season.

“Styx: Grand Illusion Live”

The group Styx was formed on Chicago's South Side, and has had many hits over a long career.
