Bus the only problem for Giants on Saturday
INDIANAPOLIS — Other than a problem with a team bus, the New York Giants’ final walk-through before the Super Bowl went smoothly Saturday.
The second of four buses carrying the team from the hotel to the University of Indianapolis had to be replaced after engine problems. The NFL had a substitute bus on hand and quickly got the players and coaches back en route, with a delay of roughly five minutes.
The Giants held a 48-minute walk-through practice with every player on the team in uniform.
Also on hand was Lt. Col. Greg Gadson, an Army officer who lost his legs in combat. The longtime friend of Giants wide receivers coach Mike Sullivan accompanied the team throughout its run to the title for the 2007 season.
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw went through all the scripted situations for the offense, and defensive end Osi Umenyiora also participated.
“He looked fine, no soreness, nothing you could notice,” coach Tom Coughlin said of Bradshaw. “This was all situational stuff, nothing unusual. It was a Saturday morning jog-thru, all situations.”
