Ela library opens digital media labs

The Ela Area Public Library has opened two digital media labs.

The labs offer free usage of digital media and technology tools at the library at 275 Mohawk Trail, Lake Zurich.

The soundproof rooms are equipped with cutting edge software and technology.

Patrons can use Mac Pro Desktop computers, film and photo scanners, video camcorders, microphones, tripods, digital video converters and more gear to create and edit videos or movies, edit photos, convert old VHS videos and print photos to digital formats.

They can develop websites, publish blogs, and create, download, burn and mix music.

Located on the second floor, the labs are open during regular library hours to Ela cardholders for up to two hours.

Users must be at least 12 years old. One-on-one assistance is available to provide guidance and basic troubleshooting.

To book an appointment or reserve a lab, visit the adult reference desk or call (847) 438-3433 x502.
