Arlington Heights man indicted on assault charges

Prosecutors on Friday announced an indictment against an Arlington Heights man who they say sexually assaulted two girls for about five years beginning when they were 11 and 13 years old.

Danny Sims, 43, has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault. Both are Class X felonies punishable by six to 30 years in prison upon conviction.

Authorities say Sims took photographs of the girls, videotaped the assaults and uploaded those images to a computer. One of the girls told a relative about the abuse after Sims tried to arrange for one of the girls to have sex with another man, prosecutors said.

Sims remains in Cook County jail on $400,000 bond. A judge also ordered he have no contact with victims.

Sims’ arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 30 in Rolling Meadows.
