Western Illinois downs North Dakota 68-46

MACOMB, Ill. — Terell Parks’ fourth double-double of the season helped Western Illinois defeat North Dakota for the second time this season with a 68-46 victory Thursday night.

Parks had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Leathernecks (5-4), who beat North Dakota 65-62 on Nov. 26 in Grand Forks.

Ceola Clark hit four 3-pointers and led Western Illinois with 15 points. Don McAvoy sank three 3-pointers among his 11 points, and Tommie Tyler scored 11 for the Leathernecks.

Aaron Anderson’s 11 points paced the Fighting Sioux (5-7), who lost their second in a row.

The Leathernecks hit 23 of 47 shots (48.9 percent), including 10 of 18 from 3-point range. North Dakota made just 15 of 46 (32.6 percent).

Western Illinois never trailed, led 37-19 at intermission and never allowed North Dakota to shrink its deficit into single figures in the second half.
