Holiday lights recycling program:

Mundelein is partnering with Elgin Recycling, Inc., for a free holiday light recycling program that runs through Jan. 31. Individuals and families interested in recycling their old holiday lighting can bring them to one of the following locations between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday: village hall, 440 E. Hawley St.,; public works, 440 E. Crystal St.,; fire station #1, 1000 N. Midlothian Road; and, fire station #2, 1300 S. Lake St. Only the light strands themselves will be taken; bulbs do not have to be removed from the strands. However, light strands connected to wreaths, garlands, or other material cannot be recycled. Call (847) 949-3270.
