Lake Villa library to host ‘A Night at the Library’

The Lake Villa District Library’s “A Night at the Library” event and the Lake Villa District Library Foundation’s silent auction are scheduled for Feb. 9.

The events will be held at the Lake Villa District Library, at 1001 E. Grand Ave., Lake Villa.

The silent auction, considered the annual major fundraising event held by the Lake Villa District Library Foundation, will be part of the “Our Story Continues ...” events in celebration of the library’s 60th anniversary celebration in 2012.

Thanks to the support of the 2011 auction, the library purchased two laptops for public use and additional video games.

Money raised in 2012 will be used to purchase a larger monitor for one of the lab computers, as well as fund a pilot collection.

The foundation is looking for auction donations. There are also sponsorship opportunities available. Call (847) 356-7711, ext. 300, or email foundation@lvdl.org for more information.

All auction applications and items must be received at the Lake Villa District Library by Jan. 30 in order for them to appear in the auction.

The Lake Villa District Library Foundation was created in January 2004 to build philanthropic capital for the Lake Villa District Library by beginning and maintaining long-term fundraising programs to support operational, capital, and programmatic needs. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
