The home that Sarah Susanka designed

The home designed by Sarah Susanka is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays through May 20.

It is at 138 School St. in downtown Libertyville, just east of Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21) and about five blocks north of Park Avenue (Route 176).

The prices range from $500,000 to $800,000, and all the detailing in Susanka's home puts it near the top.John McLinden, the developer who convinced Susanka to design a house for SchoolStreet, is looking at other sites where the urban concept could work, and says three municipalities have asked him to build in their towns. He will build condominiums in the old school on the property.
