Masked man with gun robs Naperville credit union

An armed man in a Halloween mask robbed a Naperville credit union late Saturday morning, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.

Police said they responded to the armed robbery about 11:40 a.m. at Illiana Financial Credit Union, 1163 E. Ogden Ave., unit 711.

They were told a man entered the credit union wearing a light flesh-tone Halloween mask, a plaid shirt and brown construction boots. He showed a handgun to a teller, received cash and fled, according to police.

No one was injured as a result of the robbery, authorities said.

Witnesses were uncertain about the gunman’s race.

FBI agents and a K-9 unit from the DuPage County Sheriff’s office also responded. Naperville police and the FBI are investigating and asking anyone who witnessed it or has information about the suspect to contact Naperville police at (630) 420-6157 or Naperville Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006 to remain anonymous.

Witnesses told police the man last was seen running north from the credit union.
