Pumpkin contest closes season for Dundee Farmers Market

Some of the entries in the 13th annual Great Pumpkin Contest held Oct. 29 at the Dundee Farmer's Market in East Dundee. The event was hosted by the Dundee Township Visitor's Center and marked the end of the market season for 2011.

First-place winner in the 13th annual Great Pumpkin Contest hosted by the Dundee Township Visitor’s Center went to Ryan Saxon, 13, of Cary for his Peanuts Pumpkin Tower.

A whole table of creative entries gave the panel of 10 judges a challenge, because only the top three vote getters took home prizes for best decorated/carved pumpkins.
