Bestselling author to visit:

John Flanagan, author of the international best-selling children’s fantasy book series The Ranger’s Apprentice, will visit two Lake County public libraries on Tuesday, Nov. 8. He will appear at 4 p.m. at the Warren-Newport Public Library, 224 N. O’Plaine Road, Gurnee, and at 7 p.m. at the Vernon Area Public Library, 300 Olde Half Day Road, Lincolnshire. The series originally consisted of 20 short stories, written by Flanagan to encourage his then-12-year-old son to enjoy reading. The series compromises 10 novels. The epilogue volume, “Ranger’s Apprentice: The Lost Stories,” was released Oct. 4. The events are free but registration is required.
