Man lying on tracks kills himself in Antioch
A 50-year-old man lying on train tracks was struck and killed by a southbound freight train in an unincorporated area near Antioch about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Lake County sheriff's police said.
Authorities said the victim, who lived in an unincorporated area near Antioch, committed suicide. He was on Wisconsin Central railroad tracks just north of Grass Lake Road, Sgt. Curt Gregory said.
The train was traveling about 40 mph on the tracks just east of Antioch Animal Hospital on Route 83.
