Armed robbery of Grayslake liquor store

Grayslake Police are investigating an armed robbery at a liquor store in which two subjects took money and two bottles of alcohol.

Sgt. Jeff Myhra said two masked individuals entered the Foremost Liquors at 145 N. Route 45, shortly before 9 p.m. Monday. One employee and one customer were in the store when the pair entered and showed a semiautomatic small caliber handgun.

One individual took a large amount of money from the cash register before the pair left. Two bottles of alcohol also were taken in the robbery.

Myhra said both individuals were masked, wore gloves and covered from head to toe. Store surveillance video shows a marked difference in height between the two suspects, but police cannot confirm whether they were both men.

“We don’t have a whole lot to go off of yet,” Myhra said. “We’ll be doing a lot of canvassing today.”

Anyone with information about this robbery or any suspicious incidents from Monday night should to call (847) 223-2341 and ask for investigations, Myhra said.
