Police release sketch of North Aurora home invasion suspect
Police have released a sketch of one of two suspects who bound a woman with duct tape and stole jewelry during a home invasion Friday morning in North Aurora.
The man entered the 44-year-old woman’s house on the 100 block of Elm Street about 9 a.m. Friday and displayed a handgun, according to police. He and an accomplice then struck the woman several times on the head and bound her hands behind her back once she was knocked to the floor, police said.
The suspects also covered her eyes with tape.
One of the suspects removed a gold necklace she was wearing before they left, police said.
The woman was able to break free from the tape and run outside where she found someone to call police.
One suspect was described as a short white male in his late teens or early 20s. He was wearing sunglasses and a dark jacket. There was no description of the second suspect.
The suspects may have been driving a large, dark blue SUV, such as a Suburban, Tahoe or Escalade, according to police.
The woman suffered non life-threatening injuries during the home invasion and was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora.
