Goshen College professor slain in home invasion
GOSHEN, Ind. — A northern Indiana professor has been slain and his wife seriously injured.
The Goshen News and the Elkhart Truth report 58-year-old Goshen College biology James Miller died after being attacked in his home about 1 a.m. Sunday.
Goshen police say his wife, Linda, was struck with an object and suffered serious injuries. She was transferred to South Bend Memorial Hospital, but a nursing supervisor said later Sunday the woman was not there.
Police say Linda Miller called police to report the attack by a white male in their home, about 25 miles southeast of South Bend. The attacker had fled by the time officers arrived.
James Miller taught biology. Goshen College President James Brenneman says a vigil was planned for Sunday night on the campus.
