East Aurora teacher resigns after lewd photo allegation

A female teacher at East Aurora High School accused of sending lewd photographs to a student at the school resigned last week while the matter remains under investigation, according to police.

East Aurora District 131 spokesman Clayton Muhammad said the matter was brought to the school by the Aurora Police Department.

“It all happened last week in a short matter of time,” he said. “It’s a personnel matter. We don’t go into further details.”

Police said the woman is no longer employed by the school district, and Clayton said the staff member resigned shortly after the allegations were brought up.

The teacher’s name is not being released, as no charges have been filed, police and school officials said.

“There is an ongoing investigation into the allegations,” said Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli.

Muhammad said the school district acted quickly once the allegations were brought up and the school is working with investigators.
