Prolamina hires two new executives

LAKE FOREST — Prolamina Corporation said it has hired Matthew Conlin as vice president of sales and Paul Schabow as vice president of procurement.

Conlin brings extensive experience in the flexible packaging industry and specific expertise focused on leading commercial efforts in flexible stand up pouches and high performance rollstock laminations, the company said in a release.  He joins Prolamina from Ampac Packaging where he was national accounts manager and a key developer of sales and marketing initiatives in the Flexibles Business. Previously, Conlin founded and led Saborosa Foods, a producer of shelf stable natural beef products for the food service industry processed in retort pouches and marketed under the Saborosa brand.  Additionally, he has been a sales leader at Fres-co System USA, Kapak Corporation, and Kraft Foods.

Schabow joins Prolamina with over 16 years of procurement leadership experience with strong global sourcing expertise and vast petrochemical industry knowledge in the flexible packaging and plastics industry.  He recently worked at Hospira as the global sourcing manager for resins/plastics before joining Prolamina.  At Hospira, he managed all global film, tubing and resin purchases for its packaging and internal manufacturing requirements.  Before Hospira, Schabow was a manager in supply chain for Alcan Packaging, where he led strategic sourcing initiatives for all the resin and specialty film purchases for Alcan’s 16 North American facilities.  He brings additional sourcing experience in adhesives, foil, inks, pre-press graphics, print materials, and solvents.
