School staff member arrested on child porn charges

Federal officials say they’ve arrested a part-time Lyons Township High School staff member on child pornography charges.

Nathan Arger, 32, of La Grange Park was arrested Thursday after federal agents found images of child pornography on a computer at his home, authorities said. The U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI announced the charges on Friday.

They say Arger works as a part-time, non-faculty staff member at Lyons Township High School’s radio and television stations, but they aren’t alleging he did anything illegal with students or the school’s technology equipment.

Authorities say an undercover FBI agent ffollowed a computer trail left by Arger on a file-sharing network, downloading more than 700 images and 12 video files of child pornography.

They say more child pornography was found during the home search.
