Chicago Archdiocese has iPad app

The Archdiocese of Chicago has launched a new iPad app that showcases the architectural beauty, history and treasured art works that form the sacred worship places Catholics in Chicago and the suburbs call their home parish. Rich, visual images of interiors and exteriors from more than 350 Catholic churches, with brief parish descriptions, historical information and summaries of unique treasures ranging from magnificent stained glass windows, elegant mosaics and hand-carved alters, to tapestries created from fragments of old vestments and simple parish gardens, are displayed. The app content is from the book, “Archdiocese of Chicago, A Journey of Faith,” published in 2006. Archdiocese of Chicago Churches for iPad can be downloaded and purchased for $4.99 from the iTunes App Store, http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/archdiocese-chicago-churches/id453233358?mt=8. Proceeds from the app will benefit the Cardinal's Scholarship Fund.
