On the bus, Illini fans hear a Devil of a message

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illini fans who climb aboard a bus near Memorial Stadium around game time Saturday are likely to hear a surprising message.

“Go Devils!”

WDWS radio in Champaign reports that some fans of No. 22 Arizona State have paid to place the audio ads on some buses in the area before Saturday's game at Illinois.

Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Director Tom Costello says a group of Sun Devils fans thought the ads would be a good way to have some fun with their Illini counterparts.

The ads say Arizona is looking forward to a big win. They will play near certain stops. That includes those around the stadium.

ASU Alumni Association Associate Executive Director Alissa Pearson says she isn't sure who paid the $500 to pay for the ads.
