Maternity Homes hosts Zumbathon, fair

Maternity Homes of Fox Valley in conjunction with Mooseheart Child City and School will host its first Zumbathon and Fall Vendor Fair Oct. 22 at the Mooseheart field house off Route 31.

The fair, which will feature local vendors and business owners, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Zumbathon is from noon to 3 p.m.

Proceeds from the Zumbathon will benefit Maternity Homes of Fox Valley, which provides a path to a loving home environment, education opportunities and additional resources for pregnant girls 12 to 17 who are facing poverty or homelessness.

The Zumbathon will consist of three hours of the latest Latin-inspired dance fitness craze which will be led by several Fox Valley instructors as well as the Zumba instructors and YouTube sensation, the H.O.T. Z team from Waco, Texas. Also at the event will be Shuree, an Indie pop-rock artist from Chicago.

Zumbathon tickets are $40 in advance or $50 at the door. There is no fee or ticket required to attend the vendor fair, which is open to the public.
