Greater O'Hare Association unveils new name, logo

The Greater O'Hare Association unveiled its new name — GOA Regional Business Association — during the association's monthly luncheon Wednesday at Belvedere Banquets in Elk Grove Village.

The new GOA name more accurately reflects the makeup and reach of the association, President Shirlanne Lemm said.

“Our previous name associated us more with O'Hare Airport and we often are misconstrued as serving just industrial businesses in the O'Hare area,” Lemm said.

GOA stands for Growth, Opportunities and Alliances, she said, and is reflective of the group's vision statement of “promoting growth by providing opportunities and creating alliances.” GOA serves a broad range of businesses from more than 80 communities.

In addition to the name change, a new logo was also unveiled during the Wednesday meeting. The logo was designed by Newport Promotions in Long Grove and was the winner of the GOA's new logo competition. Dona Blunt of Newport Promotions was on hand Wednesday to receive a $500 prize for creating the winning logo.
