Grayslake North junior selected to elite BMX program

Felicia Stancil, a junior at Grayslake North High School, has been selected to participate in the USA Cycling Elite BMX Program, based at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
The Elite program, currently exclusive to six female athletes, will allow Felicia several opportunities to participate in advanced training, as well as international travel and competition as part of the National Team.
Felicia successfully completed and carried out her goal of winning the 2011 BMX World Championships recently in Copenhagen, Denmark, making her the first female to become a 10-time BMX World Champion.
Felicia will be attending the Olympic Training Site Sept. 19 to 30.
