White Sox 3B Morel hasn't hit for power ... yet

Brent Morel is an introverted sort, much like another White Sox third baseman — Joe Crede.But the comparisons pretty much end there.Morel is no Crede, a claim that can be made by many other third basemen playing in the major leagues.Before a debilitating back condition cut his career short, Crede was a standout talent for the White Sox.His two-way play in the 2005 postseason was nothing short of spectacular, and it's a shame Crede couldn't continue playing longer.Morel has shown some defensive flashes reminiscent of Crede, but he doesn't have the big bat to match. At least not yet.Nearing the end of his first full season with the Sox, Morel is batting .256 with 5 home runs and 30 RBI.In his first full season with the Sox in 2003, Crede batted .261 and had 19 home runs and 75 RBI.Morel did show some power potential with 2 home runs in Thursday night's 8-1 win over the Indians. Is that a sign of things to come?#8220;Obviously, I would like to hit as many as possible,#8221; Morel said. #8220;The more home runs you get, the more runs you are scoring and driving in and stuff like that. Hopefully, they come naturally. I'm not going to go out there and try to do anything different.#8220;I've always hit a lot of doubles. People projected that would lead into home runs. We'll just see.#8221;Fading Buehrle:

White Sox starter Mark Buehrle had another rough outing Friday, allowing 7 runs on 8 hits in 5#8532; innings, including a pair of 2-run homers to Cleveland's Lonnie Chisenhall.#8220;Just one of those days,#8221; Buehrle said.Over his last 2 starts, Buehrle has given up 15 runs in 9 innings, raising his ERA from 3.05 to 3.58.#8220;His last couple of games, he's struggled a little bit,#8221; manager Ozzie Guillen said. #8220;Buehrle's about hitting his spots, moving the ball. Even when he was getting outs, they were hitting the ball pretty hard.#8221;With the 8-4 loss to the Indians, the Sox trail the first-place Tigers by 9frac12; games.#8220;I mean, mathematically we are not out of it,#8221; Buehrle said. #8220;But if you watch what is going on and see how good Detroit is playing and see us going in streaks, I don't like our chances. But at the same time, we have to go out there and we've got to keep on playing.#8221;Catch of the day:

Alejandro De Aza didn't wait long to make the highlight reel Friday night.Kosuke Fukudome led off the game with a deep drive to center field, and De Aza tracked down the drive at the wall.De Aza knocked the ball up in the air with his glove and caught it barehanded for the first out of the game.#8220;I just barely touched it with my glove,#8221; De Aza said after confirming it was the best catch he's ever made. #8220;It hit my glove and I was (looking) up and I saw it there and used my hand and caught it.#8221;Lillibridge update:

Brent Lillibridge is out of the season with a fractured right hand, but he won't need surgery after being hit by a pitch from Cleveland reliever Josh Judy on Thursday.Lillibridge is wearing a hard cast and will switch out to a softer one in a few weeks.A day after fighting off tears, Lillibridge was much more composed on Friday.#8220;I think it kind of shows your colors a little bit,#8221; Lillibridge said. #8220;I didn't think I'd be so sad or frustrated about it until they told me I was done. I love playing. I love being here.#8221;
