'Batmanning' clip makes Purdue students Web stars
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Four Purdue University freshmen are getting a lot of attention for just hanging around. Upside down all around campus, that is.
The friends hatched the idea a couple weeks ago to make a video of themselves hanging from their feet and then posted it on YouTube. By Friday morning, their "batmanning" stunt had been viewed more than a half million times.
The video shows them hanging from spots such as Purdue's Amelia Earhart statue, parts of Ross-Ade Stadium, a set of wrought-iron gates and inside a parking garage.
Batmanner Chris Ganz tells the Journal & Courier that the stunt isn't that difficult to pull off once one's feet are hooked into place.
