New Year’s Day at Allstate: DePaul vs. Syracuse

DePaul will tipoff the New Year with a Big East opener against Syracuse on Jan. 1 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

Conference officials revealed the dates and opponents for the 2011-12 Big East slate in addition to national television information on Wednesday. DePaul opens the league schedule with two home games for the first time since the 2007-08 season.

Following the New Year’s Day game against Orange, the Blue Demons host Pittsburgh on Jan. 5. The Pittsburgh game can be seen on ESPN2 at 6 p.m.

The next three games take DePaul on the road at Villanova on Jan. 8, Seton Hall on Jan. 10 and Louisville on Jan. 14. The three-game run is the longest road swing of the season for the Blue Demons as they also play back-to-back road games on Feb. 11 at Notre Dame and Feb. 15 at Connecticut.

Georgetown visits Allstate Arena on Jan. 17 for a 6 p.m. game on ESPN2 followed by USF on Jan. 22 in Rosemont. The first month of the 2012 calendar concludes on Jan. 25 at Rutgers.

February features nine games with four at Allstate Arena: St. John’s, Marquette, Louisville and Providence.
