Bring troops home to protect our borders

Our country is in a serious and dangerous economic condition, whether we call it a depression or a recession. Our government continues to bankrupt us with a trillion-dollar debt with no apparent resolution.

Yet we continue to fight a 10-year war with no outcome in sight. The number of severe casualties, mentally and physically, increases each day. We are constantly reminded to support our troops who are fighting for America. I support our troops, but I don’t support the premise they are fighting for America. Our military forces have been sent all over the world to fight in foreign countries; many of these countries do not want our “help,” and these nations have been fighting their neighbors for many years.

The cost of our involvement in these tragic fiascos is contributing to the trillions of dollars now bankrupting America. Our government has indicated the troops will be “coming home soon.” This has not materialized. How can we provide the medical treatment and jobs for the thousands of military personnel when we can’t provide for the millions of Americans who are now unemployed or underemployed?

There are no jobs or suitable health care programs available; however, we are providing for a vast number of illegal or undocumented aliens with free or low-cost health care and, more recently, education benefits. The money for these “foreign benefits” will come from the pockets of Americans who are struggling to pay tuition for their children through loans.

My recommendations are to bring our troops home to protect our borders and fight the crime in our streets and protect American citizens in America.

Wake up all you politicians, it shouldn’t be long before you are all unemployed. Start putting America and your fellow Americans first. This could be a new and rewarding experience for you.
