Quade criticism way off base

Barry Rozner’s article on Mike Quade and the Cubs organization was joke. Mike Quade is a dedicated manager, and his resume supports his accomplishments. Sixteen years at the minor leagues, four years with the Oakland Athletics and Lou Piniella’s third-base coach. Mike is not only a manager but a teacher of the game.

Mike started the season with numerous players on the DL, which has continued until today. His pitching staff was depleted from the start. Starting pitchers 4 and 5 (Wells and Cushner) started on the DL and Cushner still isn’t back. He has had to put together a staff that required moving players back and forth from the minors.

Working with overpaid and underachieving players such as Soriano and Zambrano isn’t an easy task. Mike has never made excuses and has responded in a positive way.
