Naperville crash victim identified

Police have released the identity of a 77-year-old Naperville woman critically injured Wednesday night when a car struck her while she was walking in the street, officials said.

Dixie J. Dix remained in the intensive care unit at Edward Hospital Thursday night with life-threatening injuries sustained in the accident, which occurred on Ogden Avenue near Sherman Avenue just after 10 p.m., according to police.

Dix was walking in the curbside lane of the eastbound lanes of Ogden Avenue when she was struck by a dark 2000 Acura Integra driven by a 49-year-old Lisle man. The driver was not injured in the crash, and no charges had been filed against him as of Thursday evening, according to police.

An accident reconstruction team responded to the scene to investigate, due to the seriousness of the accident, according to police. The accident remains under investigation.
