State to unveil new White Sox license plate

The Illinois Secretary of State’s Office will unveil the new Chicago White Sox permanent Illinois license plate on Tuesday with the help of White Sox legends Minnie Minoso and Bill “Moose” Skowron.

Proceeds from each license plate purchased are directed to the Professional Sports Teams Education Fund, which supports public schools throughout the state. The cost varies with vanity plate styles, but $25 from each purchase is directed to the fund.

This is the fifth Chicago pro sports team to work with the state on a license plate program. The Blackhawks were the first, followed by the Cubs, Bears and Bulls. Residents can order the White Sox plate by visiting cyberdriveillinois.com.

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White will join White Sox officials in unveiling the new plate on Tuesday morning at the James R. Thompson Center.
