14-year-old boy fatally shot in Chicago

CHICAGO — Authorities in Chicago are searching for the person who gunned down a 14-year-old boy who was walking down a West Side street Sunday to visit his older brother.

The Cook County medical examiner's office has identified the victim as Joseph Price.

Police say the teen was killed several blocks from the group home where he'd been staying in the city's Austin neighborhood.

Authorities say the boy was on the street at about 2 p.m. Sunday when a gunman walked up to him and shot him several times in his torso and head. He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital a short time later.

Price's guardian, Guyland Hill, says the teen was originally from Maywood.
