8 arrested Thursday after wild Arlington Heights hotel party

Eight people have been arrested and charged with a variety of crimes — including underage consumption of alcohol and battery to a peace officer — following a wild hotel party in Arlington Heights early Thursday morning, officials said.

Bob Kostka, a spokesman for the Community Services Bureau of the Arlington Heights Police Department, said police were called to the Motel 6 in the 400 block of Algonquin Road with reports of noise and damage complaints.

Upon arrival, Kostka said, police discovered the glass broken out on two fire extinguisher cases and a thermostat that was knocked off the wall.

Kostka also said officers heard a large amount of noise coming from Room 222, and knocked on the door.

Johnny Silva, 22, of the 1100 block of Mercury Drive in Schaumburg, greeted officers and allowed them inside, where officers said they found a large amount of alcohol and underage drinkers.

During the questioning, Oksana Badanina, 20, of Palatine, became disorderly and pushed an officer in the chest, police said. The move prompted officers to take her into custody, Kostka said, but she tried to resist the attempt.

That prompted partygoer Pablo Aguilar, 26, of Arlington Heights, to move in and push an officer, while simultaneously challenging an officer to fight him, Kostka said.

When another officer moved in to arrest Aguilar, Oswaldo Garcia, 18, of Hoffman Estates, advanced on officers, Kostka said. During the scuffle, Garcia head-butted and shouldered an officer, Kostka said.

As officers were handcuffing the people involved, Gibran Delgado-Mendez, 19, of Rolling Meadows, sneaked out of the room while still wearing handcuffs, and attempted to flee the scene, Kostka said.

Cook County Sheriff Deputies called in to assist found Delgado-Mendez and brought him back to the scene, authorities said.

Then, finally, while escorting everyone from the premises, Marco Silva, 18, of Mount Prospect, was found by police outside of the hotel with his hands and shirt covered in blood, Kostka said. He was also detained by police, Kostka said.

At the station, Johnny Silva admitted to renting the room and providing alcohol for the party, Kostka said, while Marco Silva admitted to damaging the fire extinguishers and the hallway thermostat

Also, Kostka said, two additional young women at the party — Martha Marron, 19, of Rolling Meadows, and Beatriz Marron, 20, of Streamwood — were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. In the end, Johnny Silva was charged with providing alcohol to minors, Mendez was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and resisting arrest, while Marco Silva was charged with criminal damage to property and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, Kostka said.

Also, Aguilar, Garcia and Badanina were charged with battery to a peace officer and resisting arrest.

Everyone who was arrested were issued a $1,500 bond, of which 10 percent needed to be posted to be released, Kostka said. Badanina was unable to post bond and, therefore transferred to Cook County jail, while Aguilar was held in jail due to two outstanding warrants out of Cook County, Kostka said.

All are due back in court on Sept. 13, Kostka said.
