Woodstock car show benefits youth service group

The Youth Service Bureau, a division of Pioneer Center for Human Services, will hold its 15th annual Classic Car Show on the Woodstock Square from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20.

The Kroozers Cars for Kids will have more than 360 classic cars and hot rods. This event, hosted by the Kroozers of Northern Illinois Car Club, is free to attend.

Cars of different sizes, shapes and colors will be on display. For details, call (815) 759-7144.

Not only does this event offer unique and classic cars, but also an opportunity to win cash and prizes. A 50/50 cash raffle will be held during the event in addition to a grand prize raffle. This year, prizes an Apple IPAD 2 16GB with Wi-Fi, a Fisher Price Power Wheels Ford Mustang, a $250 gas card for Marathon Gas Woodstock and four Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox tickets for Sept. 12. Along with many opportunities to win cash and prizes, there also will be food, music and kids' activities.

All proceeds and donations to this event will support Youth Service Bureau, a division of Pioneer Center for Human Services, which addresses children or teenagers in need within the community.

A crisis in the life of a child or teen is an urgent situation needing immediate attention. Youth Service Bureau, 101 S. Jefferson St. in Woodstock, provides programs and services to aid families and children in overcoming these situations through counseling, group programming and support services.

By providing educational and counseling programs concerning teen pregnancy, drug addiction and emotional issues, this program is able to serve 800 children every year.
