Let’s stick to life-and-death issues

Ron Paul, along with a few other presidential candidates, were called out on their foreign-made T shirts. Home grown is better, but in the larger picture, given the choice of the Fair Trade policy he is committed to, against all the other candidates’ foreign policies, which commit the U.S. to perpetual wars.

Being alive is better. It is not dying I am afraid of, but dying for oil isn’t worth the life of my sons.

I am not a dove, but for what have almost 6,000 U.S. soldiers died for? Let us also mention the million-plus innocent people in the Middle East who have died as a result of our liberating them. We have destroyed their nations and left millions homeless and on the run. For what? Democracy, oil, for control of their banking industries, for population control, for religious freedom or for defense of Israel?

Take your pick. No thanks. Many of these goals are under attack on our own soil.

I can live with a “made in China” T-shirt, In the meantime, let’s stick to the life-and-death issues. What does it profit our country to lose thousands of our nation’s finest for lower prices at the gas pump?
