The annual Barrington Duck Races are back — the kind that benefit Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois. The duck races and pool party will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Langendorf Park, 235 Lions Drive, Barrington, rain or shine — although in case of lightning the activities will move inside the pool house gym. The early evening will have swimming, food, DJ music, face painting and other children’s activities, including the duck races down the water slides. Admission is free. To buy ducks or raffle tickets visit www.HospiceDuckRace.com or contact Michelle Sacchitello at Msacchitello@hospiceanswers.org or (224) 770-2415. Ducks may also be purchased at the event.
