Boehner to fundraise for Schock in Illinois

PEORIA — Another high-profile Republican is coming to central Illinois to fundraise for U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock.

The Journal Star in Peoria reports Wednesday ( http://bit.ly/nrha4r ) that House Speaker John Boehner will attend a fundraiser on Aug. 31 at a private home in Edwards, about ten miles outside Peoria. The reception and dinner will cost $250 per person.

Other famous Republicans who have helped raise money for Schock include former President George W. Bush, former first lady Laura Bush and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Schock is running for reelection in 2012.

The 30-year-old Schock is the youngest member of Congress and has been in office since 2009.
