Times reporters get book deal on phone scandal

NEW YORK — Two New York Times reporters have a deal for a book about the phone hacking scandal that has shaken Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

London-based correspondent Sarah Lyall and investigative reporter Don Van Natta Jr. will collaborate on a currently untitled work.

Times Books says the book will draw upon “unparalleled access to exclusive sources” with inside knowledge of the Murdoch empire. Times Books, an imprint of Henry Holt and Co., said Tuesday that a publication date has not yet been set.

Another book on the scandal, Guardian journalist Nick Davies' “Hack Attack,” was acquired recently by Faber & Faber, a sister imprint of Times Books. Both are owned by Macmillan Publishers.
