Lake County Chamber names new executive director

The board of directors of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Shaunese Teamer as its new executive director.

Teamer, who officially joined the chamber Aug. 1, has more than 20 years of marketing and public relations experience, having worked with both nonprofit and commercial clients in developing community outreach and strategic market planning.

Teamer is a board member of the Lake County Community Foundation, and has previously served on the Lake County Partners Micro Loan Committee, North Chicago Five Points Economic Development Corporation and the North Chicago City Council.

Most recently she was employed with Window to the World Communications Inc., the parent company of Chicago public television station WTTW-11, where she was manager of community outreach and national publicity. She previously was advertising sales manager.

In her previous role, Teamer was responsible for coordinating innovative membership campaigns as well as developing national publicity strategies for a wide range of television network programming.

She also previously worked within the Executive and Information Services Division of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where she was responsible for coordinating member meetings and relaying opening stock market quotes to the trading floor.

Teamer has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications from Columbia College Chicago.
