Get rid of all the politicians

All of our congressmen and senators should be fired. They are so concerned about protecting their own special piece of the pie that they are allowing the pie to be tossed into the garbage disposal.

No one has offered to end the practice of putting “pork” in the budget- special funds for each politician’s state; airports with no flights, major roads with no destination, etc. Ending the practice and returning money not already spent would amount to billions. Major corporations and individuals associated with them give millions to politicians’ election campaigns. Therefore, these people who are profiting millions of dollars are not being asked to give up some of their obscene amounts of money.

The richer individuals and corporations are the more tax loopholes there are for them to take advantage of. Is there talk of closing the loopholes? No! Is there talk of raising taxes for those who can least afford it and who have no loopholes to fall back on? Absolutely! Our politicians are selfish and self-serving, and as long as this is allowed to continue they will sell the country and the American people down the river.

The president could appoint a panel of common, ordinary folks who work for a living and deal with their monthly and yearly personal budgets and this panel could have resolved the budget crisis in a very short time. It would happen because they wouldn’t have a vested interest in keeping the policies that have gotten to this crisis in the first place.

Fire the politicians and put John Q. Public in charge.
