Woman goes into labor during bar exam, finishes

CHICAGO -- A pregnant suburban Chicago woman went into labor while taking the bar exam, finished the test and gave birth to her son less than two hours later.

The Chicago Tribune reports ( http://trib.in/pPBH6U ) 29-year-old Elana Nightingale Dawson started the final portion of the exam when she went into labor. Her contractions were 15 minutes apart. Nightingale Dawson says her goal was "to get through the exam as fast as I could and leave" unless anything more serious happened. The exam has to be finished to be valid.

She finished the test and walked with the proctor to a downtown Chicago hospital about a block away. The Downers Grove woman's son Wilson was delivered by Caesarean section less than two hours later.

She'll find out in October if she passed.
