GOP wants to end Medicare, Social Security

So here we were, on the brink of default as the Republican-controlled House of Representatives holds the country hostage to a far right group of ideologues that would refuse to pay the country’s bills (bills that were largely created under the Bush administration) and insist that they will run the country over the cliff if they don’t get a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution of The United States Of America.

Here is whats really going on. If the House can pass a balanced budget amendment, these same pols will have the perfect excuse to destroy Medicare and Medicaid and will eliminate Social Security for American workers, which is what they have wanted all along.

The fact is that the U.S. needs to have the ability to spend money in an emergency. How would we have fared in World War II if we had a balanced budget amendment? During the Civil War, the U.S. went into debt of over a billion dollars for the first time in the history of the country.

This manufactured issue is nothing more than a political game to try to run the economy into the ground so that they can blame it on the president for political gain in the 2012 election. Where is the patriotism from these leaders?

We have spiraled into a pit of political hell. Speaker Boehner, where are the jobs? Peter Grant
