IDOT taking input on transit plan

The Illinois Department of Transportation will seek comments on a long-term transit plan in upcoming meetings in northeastern Illinois.

Officials will look for public input as they develop a multiyear construction, maintenance and upgrade plan for the 2013 thru 2018 fiscal years.

The first meeting will be held Aug. 5 in Chicago.

Information on following meetings will be released later in August. Those meetings will be in south Cook, Will, DuPage, Kane, McHenry and Lake counties.

The informational meetings and feedback sessions will allow elected officials, residents and businesses the chance to understand and comment on project priorities for the next five to seven years.

Comment sheets for those who attend and want to submit a written statement will be available.
