Make politicians work for us

It is time to stand up and let the nation know how you feel. How you feel about the foreign spending, the spending of the House and Senate, and the welfare state that this country has become due to lack of leadership.

Yes, we the voters are at fault for the state this country is in today. We say “God Bless America” and He blesses us every day we, the American people, have the right to vote and send people to state capitals and Washington, D.C. We need to make every one of them accountable to us.

They spend our money. They seem to think that the treasury printing press is theirs for the using.

We need to make them agree to get raises when we feel they deserve them.

President Bush gave Baghdad millions when the war in Iraq started for the destruction of Baghdad. What kind of thing is that to do? Did they pay us for the destruction of the World Trade Center? Did Japan pay us for the destruction at Pearl Harbor? Where is the business sense of the people we send to represent us?

We are destroying our country from within by electing people who are out for their own good instead of the good of the people. We need to elect people for no more than two terms and dictate to them on how they are to behave. Make them accountable to the people. Let them join in living like the common people with Social Security, Medicare, 401(k) plans and paying for their own medical bills.

Things would change very quickly. If they were paid according to the way they voted on important issues I am sure that they would become interested in what the home bodies have to say.

No more pork barrel issues. No more flights to foreign countries with no results. Was that a business or pleasure trip?

As a taxpayer I am sick and tired of hearing how tough it is to be a politician. They get the benefits and we get the dirt of their unclean living habits. And we get to pay for them.

This rant is over. Let your politicians know how you feel and see if you can change their vote.
