Illinois motorcycle rider killed in southwest ND

DICKINSON, N.D. — A motorcycle rider from Illinois was killed in a collision with a pickup truck in southwest North Dakota.

The Highway Patrol says the 64-year-old rider from Champaign, Ill., was dead at the scene on U.S. Highway 85 in western Stark County. The victim of the crash late Thursday morning was not immediately identified.

Authorities say the rider was hit head-on when the driver of the pickup tried to turn off the highway. The two people from California who were in the pickup were not hurt.
