GOP will pay for wars, not services

According to Warren Buffett, the GOP raised the U.S. debt ceiling seven times during the G.W. Bush administration. That was after Bush totally trashed the surplus that President Clinton’s administration had left in place after tough and realistic fiscal decisions during Clinton’s presidency.

In effect, what they’re saying, in my opinion is that paying for wars that a GOP president brought on was warranted, but under a Democratic administration, paying for services and benefits that the American taxpayers have been taxed for is not worthy of raising the ceiling. Unless, of course, the wealthy beneficiaries of Bush’s generous tax breaks are spared even a nominal tax increase.

Anyone that is even entertaining the idea of supporting a party that would shut down the U.S. government based on that reasoning, be prepared for you and your families to suffer the brunt of the ensuing hardships that will follow.
